Meet the Crew

Captain Lenny

is a US Coast Guard licensed captain with over forty years of saltwater fishing experience as a mate, tournament competitor, commercial fisherman and charterboat captain. He has fished from the Arctic Circle to the tropics and is intimately familiar with the ocean waters of the Delmarva peninsula. He is a well-recognized saltwater fishing journalist and author of numerous technical and informational articles on the marine environment and big game fishing. Captain Lenny has served the U.S and international fishing communities as a fisheries policy advisor to the National Marine Fisheries Services and ICCAT. ICCAT is the international organization, which sets the rules and regulations impacting upon all recreational and commercial fishing in the Atlantic Ocean. His special area of expertise is pelagic tuna, broadtail swordfish and oceanic sharks. He is also a member of the National Association of Charterboat operators.

Jimmy Mariner

is a Delmava native and the son of a local waterman and traces his family history back five generations as commercial fisherman. He is a fierce tournament competitor and is recognized locally as a top-notch tuna and mako shark fisherman. He grew up in the Greenbackville Va. area and has a lifetime of experience fishing the local waters as a captain, charterboat mate and commercial fisherman. He has a vast amount of experience fishing the deep offshore canyons of the Virginia capes as well as the rich inshore fishing grounds. Without question few individuals know the local water as well as Jimmy.

Aside from providing an exciting day on the water both Captain Lenny and his mate Jimmy believe that sportfishing is an art as well as a sport and are more than willing to share their knowledge and experience with others involved in the sport. There are no secrets on GOIN’ DEEP and we look at your experience as not only a fishing adventure but also a learning experience. We welcome less experienced boat owners and anglers to come and fish with us.
